Angkor Wat

This  building is found at the side of the causeway .There is an identical one on the other side as well. Some say that it was the library where ancient palm leaf scrolls of sacred scripts were kept.None have survived.

The  entrance to the temple is through this gate that is very impressive.

Now we come to the end of the causeway and are about to enter the outer gate to the complex. The spires of the temple is now visible behind the walls.

Tipin on the causeway. The Sheshnag or the snake continues the entire length but some pieces are missing . The complex suffered extensive damage during the war
and thieves carted away precious statues by truckloads but now serious repair work is going on .
