The Angkor Temple is built on three levels. 
Outside of the galleries . Note the high foundation that brings you to the level of the gallery.
Here also one can see the snake used as a ballustrade and stairs leading down to the water tank.
Extensive galleries and the damaged spire in the corner. 
The tanks are surrounded by long galleries on all sides. Each corner has a spire shaped like a lotus bud that gives Angkor its sublime image.
