But the Asuras (demons) are shown with demonic faces. This theme of churning the ocean with the snake is found again and again everywhere .


The Devas are shown with serene faces .

At the end of this path we see the first gate leading to the temple complex.


And on the other side we see the Devas(Gods) pulling the snake. According to the Indian mythology the Devas and Asuras churned the ocean using the ShesNag and a mountain to find the elixir of eternal life called amrita.


On the way to the temple of Angkor Wat, we came to this place where on one side you can see the Asuras (Demons) pulling the mythical snake called ShesNag with five heads.
