The apsaras were court dancers during the Khmer empire .

The girls are chosen for their beauty and trained relentlessly for years starting at a very young age.

But it was in Siem Riep where we saw the Apsara dance for the first time.

We saw this one in a hotel and were  impressed by its quality.

The Apsara paintings are found everywhere in Cambodia but the price varies.
